Miniature B7G chassis socket with a white ceramic body
This compact Miniature B7G valve socket is designed for chassis mounting and point-to-point wiring. It is suitable for valve radios, small amplifiers, preamplifiers, studio electronics, test equipment and space-saving DIY circuits. The white ceramic body provides a dimensionally stable and temperature-resistant insulating base. Silver-plated fork-spring contacts retain the seven valve pins reliably, while solder lugs permit clear and accessible wiring. The separate metal mounting flange supports installation from either side of the chassis. The socket is suitable for new designs as well as repair and restoration work. Before installation, verify the chassis cut-out, mounting centres, orientation, pinout and the electrical safety clearances required by the circuit.

Typical mechanically compatible valves
Detector and signal valves: DF91 / 1T4 and EAA91 / 6AL5
Triodes: EC90 / 6C4, EC92 / 6AB4 and EC903
Power valves: EL95 / 6DL5 and 50C5
Rectifiers: 6Z4 and 6X4 / EZ90
A common Miniature B7G base does not guarantee electrical interchangeability. Pinout, heater data and operating values must match the relevant circuit.
Alternative designations
Internationally used designations for this format include Miniature B7G, Pico-7, 7-Pin Miniature, Miniature 7-Pin, B7G Chassis Socket, 7-Pin Chassis-Mount Tube Socket and B7G Valve Socket.
Installation and use of the B7G chassis socket
What chassis cut-out and mounting centres are required?
The specified dimensions are a Ø 16 mm chassis cut-out, 22.5 mm centre-to-centre mounting centres and two Ø 3.5 mm mounting holes. The socket, metal flange and chassis holes should be checked together before series production.
How is the socket secured to the chassis?
The socket is secured with the separate metal flange and two screws. The flange permits installation from either the top or bottom side of the chassis. The locating gap must agree with the intended pinout and installation orientation.
What contact construction is used?
The socket uses silver-plated fork-spring contacts and solder lugs for point-to-point wiring. During soldering, prevent solder and flux from entering the contact springs.
Which valves fit mechanically?
B7G or Pico-7 valves such as DF91 / 1T4, EAA91 / 6AL5, EC90 / 6C4, EC92 / 6AB4, EC903, EL95 / 6DL5, 50C5, 6Z4 and 6X4 / EZ90 fit mechanically. A common base does not guarantee electrical interchangeability; pinout, heater data and operating values must match the circuit.

The EU Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (2011/65/EU = "RoHS 2") aims to exclude certain hazardous substances from electrical and electronic equipment or to restrict the use of certain substances in electrical and electronic equipment. These include substances such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and chromium, as well as certain brominated flame retardants and plasticizers. These substances may only be used in electrical and electronic equipment up to a maximum concentration limit, unless exemptions in the annexes to the directive permit their use under certain conditions. This can reduce and eliminate harmful substances and improve the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment. To find out whether the component you purchased from us is permitted in your device, please refer to the current directive or the current law applicable to your country. If you are a manufacturer, please feel free to contact us to find out whether the component you require can be tested and approved according to the current directives. We would be happy to assist you.
