For vintage radios, hi-fi preamps, studio, test gear and DIY audio
Also known as B7G, Pico-7 or 7-pin miniature chassis tube socket type
For EL95, 6AQ5, 5654, 6AK5, EF95, 6X4, EZ90 and EAA91 B7G tube types
Miniature B7G / Pico-7 PTFE chassis socket with machined gold-plated contacts
This premium 7-pin miniature socket is designed for compact point-to-point wired valve circuits. The white PTFE insulator provides a heat-resistant and highly insulating base. Machined gold-plated collet contacts engage the valve pins precisely and combine secure retention with good serviceability. A separate fixing ring permits installation from above or below the chassis. The socket is suitable for new builds, repairs and restoration of valve radios, preamplifiers, small Hi-Fi amplifiers, studio and test equipment, as well as space-saving DIY audio and guitar preamplifier circuits using mechanically compatible B7G valves.

Applications, valve examples and common designations
The socket is mechanically intended for valves with a 7-pin miniature B7G base. Typical examples include:
- Power valves: EL95 and EL90 / 6AQ5
- Small-signal and RF valves: 5654 / 6AK5 / EF95, EF91, 6J1, 6K4 and 6N15
- Rectifier and diode valves: EZ90 / 6X4, 6Z4 and EAA91
Common search and comparison designations: miniature B7G, Pico-7, 7-pin miniature, miniature 7-pin, B7G tube socket, PTFE tube socket and 7-pin chassis-mount tube socket.
A shared base format does not establish electrical interchangeability. Pin assignment, heater data and permitted operating conditions must match the selected valve and circuit.
Practical questions about installation and use
What chassis cut-out does the miniature B7G socket require?
Installation requires a 21 mm diameter chassis cut-out. The separate fixing ring permits mounting from above or below the chassis. The actual socket should be used as a mounting template before machining the chassis.
Which valve radios, Hi-Fi and studio devices can use this socket?
The chassis socket is suitable for compact valve radios, preamplifiers, small Hi-Fi amplifiers, studio and test equipment, as well as service and restoration work, provided that the equipment is mechanically and electrically designed for a 7-pin B7G valve.
Can the Pico-7 socket be used in Audio preamplifier and DIY circuits?
Yes. It can be used in an Audio preamplifier, DAC´s and DIY audio circuits when the selected valve has a B7G base and its pin assignment, heater supply and operating conditions match the circuit.
Which valves are mechanically compatible with the miniature B7G socket?
Mechanically compatible examples include EL95, EL90/6AQ5, 5654/6AK5/EF95, EF91, 6J1, 6K4, 6N15, EZ90/6X4, 6Z4 and EAA91. Electrical suitability must always be checked against the valve data sheet.

The EU Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (2011/65/EU = "RoHS 2") aims to exclude certain hazardous substances from electrical and electronic equipment or to restrict the use of certain substances in electrical and electronic equipment. These include substances such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and chromium, as well as certain brominated flame retardants and plasticizers. These substances may only be used in electrical and electronic equipment up to a maximum concentration limit, unless exemptions in the annexes to the directive permit their use under certain conditions. This can reduce and eliminate harmful substances and improve the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment. To find out whether the component you purchased from us is permitted in your device, please refer to the current directive or the current law applicable to your country. If you are a manufacturer, please feel free to contact us to find out whether the component you require can be tested and approved according to the current directives.
