What is personal data?
Personal data is information that can be used to find out your identity. This includes information such as your name, address, IP address, telephone number or e-mail address. It does not include information that is not associated with your real identity (such as favorite websites or the number of users of a site).
What is anonymized data?
General information is automatically stored each time our website content is accessed (e.g. duration and number of users of individual pages or similar). Such data is not personal and is therefore processed anonymously. Information of this kind is used exclusively for informal purposes and is used by us to optimize our website.
What data do we collect from you?
We collect personal data from you to process the offers you have selected. This is done in particular when you make a binding purchase from our online ordering system.

a. Accessing the website
When you visit our website www.btb-elektronik.de, the browser used on your device automatically sends information to the server of our website. This information is temporarily stored in a so-called log file:
- IP address

- Website from which the access was made (referrer URL)

The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. F GDPR as of May 25, 2018. Our legitimate interest follows from the data collection purposes listed above.
Under no circumstances do we use the data collected for the purpose of drawing conclusions about your person. We also use cookies and analysis services when you visit our website. You will find more detailed explanations below.
b. When using our contact form
For questions of any kind, we offer you the opportunity to contact us using the form provided on our website. It is necessary to provide a valid e-mail address so that we know who sent the request and can process and respond to it. Further information is voluntary.
Data processing for the purpose of contacting us will take place from May 25, 2018 in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR on the basis of your voluntarily given consent.
The personal data collected by us for the use of the contact form will be automatically deleted after your inquiry has been dealt with.
How do we use and process your personal data?
The object of our company is the sale and selection of electronic components and the provision of advice on the subject of electronics. The collection, processing and use of data takes place in order to carry out these business activities.
To whom do we forward your personal data?
We only forward your personal data to the shippers/forwarders (e.g. DHL, DPD, UPS and others), to our tax advisor (for billing and accounting purposes) or to banks (e.g. in the case of payment by direct debit) in order to perform and process our services. In connection with the use of our online services, we forward your data to our online system service providers (e.g. hosting system operators). Our system service providers help us to constantly improve our offers and services for you. Personal data is only collected and transmitted to government institutions and authorities within the framework of mandatory legal provisions.
Data will only be passed on to third parties if
- You have given your express consent in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1. S.1 lit a GDPR ( from May 25, 2018 )
- The disclosure pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. F GDPR is necessary for the assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding interest worthy of protection in not disclosing the data.
- In the event that there is a legal obligation for the disclosure pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. c GDPR, as well as
- this is legally permissible and necessary for the processing of contractual relationships with you in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR.
The sale of personal data, in particular addresses, to third parties expressly does NOT take place.
Data security - How do we protect your data?
In order to process your personal data as securely as possible, we always use the SSL protocol (Secure Socket Layer) for data transmission between your computer and our server, particularly when using our online services. Data transmission is exclusively encrypted and uses the highest encryption level supported by your browser. As a rule, this is 256-bit encryption. If your browser does not support 256-bit encryption, we use 128-bit v3 technology instead. You can tell whether an individual page of our website is transmitted in encrypted form by the closed display of the key or lock symbol in the lower status bar of your browser.
We also use suitable technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or unauthorized access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.
Your rights
You have the right:
- In accordance with 15 GDPR, to request information about your personal data processed by us. In particular, you can request information about the purposes of processing, the category of personal data, the category of recipients to whom your data has been or will be disclosed, the planned storage period, the existence of a right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing or objection, the existence of a right to lodge a complaint, the origin of your data if it was not collected by us, and the existence of automated decision-making including profiling and, if applicable, meaningful information on its details;
- in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR, to demand the immediate rectification of incorrect and incomplete or completion of your personal data stored by us
- In accordance with Art. 17 GDPR, to request the erasure of your personal data stored by us, unless the processing is necessary for exercising the right of freedom of expression and information, for compliance with a legal obligation, for reasons of public interest or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims;
- In accordance with Art. 18 GDPR, to demand the restriction and processing of your personal data if the accuracy of the data is disputed by you, the processing is unlawful, but you refuse to delete it and we no longer need the data, but you need it to assert, exercise or defend legal claims or you have lodged an objection to the processing in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR.
- In accordance with Art. 20 GDPR, to receive your personal data that you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format or to request that it be transmitted to another controller;
In accordance with Art. 7 A ss. 3 GDPR, to revoke your consent once given to us at any time. The consequence of this is that we may no longer continue the data processing based on this consent in the future and
to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in accordance with Art. 77 GDPR. As a rule, you can contact the supervisory authority of your usual place of residence or workplace or our company headquarters.
Note: We are required by law to archive invoices and other documents for 10 years.
Right to object
If your personal data are processed on the basis of legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR, provided that there are reasons for this arising from your particular situation or the objection is directed against third-party advertising. In the latter case, you have a general right to object, which will be implemented by us without specifying a particular situation.
