For 300B and 2A3 SET amplifiers, high-end hi-fi, studio and DIY audio
Also known as UX4, UX-4, 4-pin UX4 and international UX4 tube socket
27 mm cut-out, 35 mm M3 centres, for 300B, 2A3, PX4, PX25 and 320B
UX4 PTFE chassis socket with machined 24K gold-plated contacts
This premium 4-pin UX4 chassis socket is designed for demanding point-to-point wired tube amplifiers. The white PTFE insulator provides a heat-resistant and highly insulating base. Machined 24K gold-plated copper socket contacts provide precise engagement with the different UX4 tube-pin diameters. The separate black fixing ring permits mounting from above or below the chassis; PCB mounting is also possible where the mechanical layout is suitable. The socket is particularly well suited to new builds, repairs and restoration of 300B and 2A3 amplifiers, single-ended triode power amplifiers, monoblocks, high-quality Hi-Fi power supplies, studio tube equipment and ambitious DIY audio projects.

Applications, tube examples and common designations
The socket is mechanically intended for tubes with a 4-pin UX4 base. Typical examples include:
- Directly heated power triodes: 300B, 2A3, PX4, PX25, 320B and 520B
- Typical applications: single-ended triode amplifiers, parallel single-ended power stages, monoblocks, high-quality Hi-Fi power supplies and DIY audio projects
Common search and comparison designations: UX4, UX-4, 4-pin UX4, UX4 tube socket, 4-pin tube socket, EIZZ EZ-1204 PTFE tube socket and 300B / 2A3 tube socket.
A shared base format does not establish electrical interchangeability. Pin assignment, heater data, anode voltage, bias current and permitted plate dissipation must match the selected tube and circuit.
Practical questions about SET amplifiers and installation
What chassis cut-out and mounting centres does the UX4 socket require?
Installation requires a 27 mm diameter chassis cut-out. The two M3 mounting holes are nominally spaced 35 mm centre-to-centre. The separate fixing ring permits mounting from above or below the chassis.
Which 300B and 2A3 amplifiers can use the PTFE socket?
The socket is suitable for point-to-point wired single-ended, parallel single-ended and push-pull designs using mechanically compatible UX4 tubes. It can be used in Hi-Fi power amplifiers, monoblocks, studio tube equipment and high-quality DIY audio projects.
Which tubes are mechanically compatible with the 4-pin UX4 socket?
Mechanically compatible UX4 tubes include 300B, 2A3, PX4, PX25, 45, 50, 320B and 520B. Electrical suitability must always be checked against the pin assignment and operating data of the selected tube.
Can the UX4 PTFE socket be mounted from above, below or on a PCB?
Yes. The detachable fixing ring permits chassis mounting from above or below. PCB mounting is also possible where the board layout and mechanical support are suitable. Chassis material approximately 2.5 to 3.5 mm thick is recommended.

The EU Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (2011/65/EU = "RoHS 2") aims to exclude certain hazardous substances from electrical and electronic equipment or to restrict the use of certain substances in electrical and electronic equipment. These include substances such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and chromium, as well as certain brominated flame retardants and plasticizers. These substances may only be used in electrical and electronic equipment up to a maximum concentration limit, unless exemptions in the annexes to the directive permit their use under certain conditions. This can reduce and eliminate harmful substances and improve the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment. To find out whether the component you purchased from us is permitted in your device, please refer to the current directive or the current law applicable to your country. If you are a manufacturer, please feel free to contact us to find out whether the component you require can be tested and approved according to the current directives. We would be happy to assist you.
