€87.60
Delivery time: ca. 1 - 5 days
Precisely matched on calibrated Roetest V10 for high-reserve PP use
Extra headroom for rock and clean, clear voicing, still warm, tight
For Marshall DSL100, TSL100, JVM410 and stereo push-pull hi-fi amps
JJ E34L matched quad – four precisely selected power pentodes with high reserve
Modern 100-watt heads like the Marshall DSL100, TSL100 or JVM410 drive their four output tubes harder than the vintage classics – which is where the rugged E34L pays off twice. This quad is precisely selected under BTB premium matching on a calibrated Roetest V10; the measurably higher transconductance versus the EL34 gives the power stage extra reserve and the tubes a longer life.
Sonically that means more headroom benefiting clean and rock tones alike, plus added clarity over a warm, tight foundation – equally at home in stereo push-pull hi-fi amps running two tubes per channel. Plan around 50 to 100 hours of burn-in and the tone settles in.
Typical applications
- Modern 100-watt guitar heads with four output tubes (DSL100, TSL100, JVM410)
- Stereo push-pull hi-fi with two E34Ls per channel and high reserve
- Converting an EL34 quad to the sturdier E34L
- Power-oriented audio DIY push-pull builds

Application and design notes
After converting from EL34 to E34L, have the bias set – the higher transconductance tends to raise idle current in cathode-biased and class-A circuits, and fixed-bias amps need readjustment. The tight set of four secures even current sharing between both push-pull branches. Lethal voltages are present inside – service work requires proper qualification.
Questions about selection and use
Is the E34L quad the right choice for a DSL100 or JVM410?
Yes, these modern 100-watt Marshalls run four output tubes and get along excellently with the rugged E34L – the precisely matched quad is the complete set for them. Have the bias set by a technician after installation.
Does the E34L really deliver more headroom for rock and clean?
Yes, thanks to its higher measured transconductance and wider grid bias range, the power stage breaks up later – clean tones stay uncolored longer and rock riffs keep definition and punch where an EL34 already compresses.
What does "precisely matched on a Roetest V10" actually mean?
Yes, worth explaining: every tube is measured on the calibrated Roetest V10 tube analyzer, and only samples with closely grouped values enter the set. All four tubes then reach equal idle currents and identical drive behavior – the basis of a symmetrical power stage.
