EL34JJ Oktett Red Label tubes BTB matched Oktett Röhrenset
€154.80
Delivery time: ca. 1 - 5 days
Matched set of eight with equal clipping and maximum channel stability
For dual-mono power amps and monoblock pairs built from a single batch
Warm, smooth JJ tone, 800V / 25W / g2 8W max, burn-in 50-100 hours
JJ EL34 matched octet – eight selected power pentodes for dual-mono and reference PP
Where eight EL34s are at work, the uniformity of the whole set decides the result: stereo power amps like the Marshall EL34 100/100 with two banks of four only sound identical on both channels when all eight systems share the same values. This octet is therefore selected under BTB premium matching as one continuous set of eight – for equal clipping behavior and maximum stability between channels.
Monoblock pairs running four EL34s each benefit just as much: both blocks receive tubes from the same selection run and behave as mirror images. Tonally, the JJ EL34 delivers its familiar warm, smooth voicing with an earthy foundation; allow a fresh set around 50 to 100 hours of burn-in.
Typical applications
- Stereo and dual-mono power amplifiers with four EL34s per channel
- Monoblock pairs fitted from one single matched set
- Reference push-pull amplifiers demanding tight channel uniformity
- One complete retube instead of creeping single-tube swaps

Application and design notes
Eight output tubes mean substantial heater power and heat – verify power supply reserves and ventilation, especially in rack installations. With fixed bias, set the idle current per channel for all tubes after installation; the tight selection makes a symmetrical result easy to achieve. Lethal voltages are present inside – service work requires proper qualification.
Questions about selection and use
Is the octet the right load-out for a 2x100-watt power amp?
Yes, stereo power amps like the Marshall EL34 100/100 run eight EL34s – four per channel. The set of eight retubes both channels in one go with tubes from a single selection run; have the bias set per channel afterwards.
Can I fit two monoblocks at once with the set of eight?
Yes, that is exactly the octet's strength: both monoblocks receive four tubes each from the same matching run and behave practically identically – from idle current up to the clipping point.
Why does equal clipping matter so much with eight tubes?
Yes, this is the core of a good set of eight: when all tubes reach their limit at the same time, the stage stays symmetrical up to full drive and both channels sound equally loud and equally clean. Uneven tubes shift that point noticeably per channel.

The EU Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (2011/65/EU = "RoHS 2") aims to exclude certain hazardous substances from electrical and electronic equipment or to restrict the use of certain substances in electrical and electronic equipment. These include substances such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and chromium, as well as certain brominated flame retardants and plasticizers. These substances may only be used in electrical and electronic equipment up to a maximum concentration limit, unless exemptions in the annexes to the directive permit their use under certain conditions. This can reduce and eliminate harmful substances and improve the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment. To find out whether the component you purchased from us is permitted in your device, please refer to the current directive or the current law applicable to your country. If you are a manufacturer, please feel free to contact us to find out whether the component you require can be tested and approved according to the current directives. We would be happy to assist you.
